United States crowned champions with an unbelievable comeback against Venezuela

(Press Release; WBSC-AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The teams from the United States and Venezuela met again in the final of the U12 World Cup qualifier and once again it was the North Americans who got the victory and the champion's trophy.

For its part, Mexico seized the opportunity to get on the podium by knocking out Panama, in this way the United States, Venezuela and Mexico make up the podium of the tournament.

The United States scored eleven runs in their last opportunity at bat and tied the score at 28 and then walked of Venezuela in extra innings, the 29-28 victory gives them the U12 World Cup Qualifier championship.

Venezuela scored 22 runs in the last two innings and led by eleven going into the bottom of the sixth, but a rally of eleven left them shocked and subsequently walked off by the United States in the seventh.

Zaylon Johnson was crowned the MVP of the tournament and in the final, he shone by going 3-for-5 with four runs scored and five RBIs. Meanwhile, Boston Targac went 3-for-3 with six runs scored and another five RBIs. Leylan Henry also stood out by going 2-for-3 with four runs scored and four RBIs.

Early in the morning, the Mexican team had no truce against Panama and in four innings they finished the victory by knockout with a score of 21-5 to win the bronze medal of the tournament.

Offensively for Mexico, José Burciaga stood out by going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and five RBIs. While Carlos Durstewitz went 3-for-3 with four runs scored and another four brought to the plate.

The United States takes the championship and the gold medal, Venezuela takes the silver again and Mexico takes the bronze. These three teams, together with Panama, will be the representatives of America that will be present at the World Cup of the category in Chinese Taipei.
