Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic offensive juggernauts

(Press Release; WBSC-AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The U12 World Cup qualifier continued on Monday with a day full of offensive displays, in which the teams from Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic won with a lot of offense.

The Dominican Republic knocked out Brazil in four innings with a score of 24-2, the sixteen runs scored in the second inning were enough to sentence the game.

Offensively, Leonardo Florentino stood out, batting 3-for-3 with four runs scored and two RBIs. Gustavo Talmare who went 3-for-4 with four runs scored and five RBIs. Also Hairo Basallo 4-3 with three runs scored and two knocked in.

For its part, Puerto Rico defeated Cuba in extra innings in a offensive duel, the 27-21 score has been one of the highest in any games of this World Cup qualifier so far.

 Keyren Burgos stood out offensively by going 5-for-4 with four runs scored and four RBIs. Sebastián Cabrera went 4-for-6 with four runs scored and seven RBIs. Also Joseph Garrnett 5-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Venezuela also scored twenty runs in the game in which they beat Panama, coming from behind by a score of 20-11, to level their record in the Premundial tournament at 2-2.

For Venezuela, Jheyslers Alayón stood out by going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Alexandro Ladera also went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs and Willy Rodríguez went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

The leaders' duel between the United States and Mexico, had to be suspended in the bottom third inning due to an electrical failure in the stadium. It will be rescheduled and continued later, the United States was leading Mexico 5-0 at the time of the blackout.
