(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS BASEBOL).- The Premier 12 tournament schedule was revealed with seven American countries seeking to be crowned the best in the world.
Group A will be held in Mexico and, in addition to the host, will feature four other teams from America: Panama, the United States, Puerto Rico and Venezuela, as well as the Netherlands representing Europe.
For its part, Group B will be held in Chinese Taipei, apart from its host, Japan and Korea will compete for the Asian continent, Australia for Oceania and two more teams from America, the Dominican Republic and Cuba.
The event promises great duels between stellar American powers such as the United States vs Puerto Rico, Venezuela vs Mexico and Cuba vs Dominican Republic among others.
But the great challenge for the American national teams will be to reach the championship for this edition, since in the two previous editions of the Premier 12 tournament the Asian countries have been the winners.
The four best in each group will travel to Asia for the Super Round of the tournament.
America wants to guarantee its presence among the best in the world, thus ratifying its label as where the best baseball in the world is played.
In the 2015 edition, the United States fell in the final against South Korea, being the best team in America in that edition, while in 2019 Mexico won the bronze medal game against the United States to be the best, in an edition in which Japan participated in the final, beating South Korea.
In this edition, seven teams from America will have the opportunity to compete for the trophy that has eluded America in the last two editions, after being among the top twelve in the World ranking.
