Brazil dominated Group B and qualifies with Colombia for the Super Round

(Press Release; WBSC AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The baseball tournament of the Pan American Games that takes place at the Bicentenario stadium in Cerrillos concluded with Group B in which Brazil advances undefeated, while Colombia reached the victory that allowed them to advance alongside the Brazilians.

Brazil defeated Cuba 4 to 2 to finish undefeated, a duel in which they dominated 4 to 0 and then withstood their rival's comeback attempts in the last innings to achieve victory.

For Brazil, Fabio Murukami went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI, while Salomon Kona went 1-for-4 with RBI. While Felipe Natel once again had an exceptional performance by throwing 4.2 shutout innings, with three walks and three strikeouts.

For its part, Colombia won the duel against Venezuela by a score of 6 to 2, enough to advance in the group.

Despite losing its first two games, it achieved the necessary result to advance. Colombia sealed the game in the first inning when Dilson Herrera hit a triple that cleared the bases, ultimately going 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs.

While Carlos Arroyo went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Backed by five in the first inning, Colombia's pitchers managed and six in total left Venezuela with two runs despite allowing ten hits and one walk, but with six strikeouts.

On Wednesday in the Qualifying Round Chile will visit Venezuela in the morning, while in the afternoon Brazil will clash with Panama in the Super Round of the tournament.
