United States champion and Venezuela reaches the podium of the U12 World Cup

(Press Release; WBSC-AMERICAS).- The United States repeated its championship trophy by defeating the host in the final, while Venezuela remained on the podium by winning the bronze medal.

The representatives of America who were in the final in the last World Cup in the category, climbed the podium again, this time against two Asian powers in the medal games.

The United States avenged their loss to Chinese Taipei in the Super Round, beating them 10-4 in the final, sealing the game with seven runs in the top of the sixth inning.

Tyler Early led his team to victory by pitching four innings of two earned runs, walking two and striking out six to earn the win. In addition, he scored a run and received a walk at the plate.

Gavin Gomez also stood out pitching the final two innings of relief, allowing two hits and two earned runs with two strikeouts for the save. With the bat he went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and one driven in.

For its part, Venezuela remained on the podium by beating Japan 9-8, scoring five runs in the last two innings to complete the comeback and claim the bronze medal.

Alexandro Ladera went 3-for-4 with a run scored and four RBIs including a homer to lead the offense. While Ángel Rondón went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two driven in.

The victory went to Ezequiel Zamora, who allowed five hits in 2.2 innings of relief, with two earned runs, two walks and three strikeouts. Ender Acosta saved the game by striking out the only two he faced.
