(Press Release; WBSC-AMERICAS BASEBALL).- The United States and Mexico teams won again in their respective duels to remain undefeated, while Puerto Rico got their first win and Panama its second in a row.

The Puerto Rican team defeated Brazil by knockout with a score of 12-1 in five innings to get their first win of the tournament, while the South Americans are still looking for their first win.

For the Puerto Ricans, Jc Oneill Cruz won by pitching three innings in which he allowed one hit, one unearned run, two walks and two strikeouts. Offensively, Diego Reyes stood out, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs with a home run. Sebastián Cabrera also homered, going 2-2 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

Panama also knocked out the Dominican Republic in five innings 14-3, eight runs came across in the first inning, leading the way for the Central Americans.

For Panama, Matthew Flores stood out offensively, going 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs. While Javier Acevedo went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs and Yunieski Sánchez went 2-for-3 with a home run with two runs scored and three RBIs.

The United States maintained its unbeaten record by also defeating Cuba by knockout now by a score of 14-4 in five innings, nine runs in the last two innings marked the way.

Greyson Wuis stood out offensively by going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs, while Zaylon Johnson went 2-for-3 with two homers, with four runs scored and two RBIs.

In the last matchup of the day, Mexico outscored Venezuela 15-8, ending the game with nine runs scored in the fifth inning.

Esteban Gallardo went 2-for-3 with four runs scored and four RBIs, while Joaquin Duarte went 2-for-4 with runs scored and three RBIs.

The United States and Mexico will face each other this Monday to define who will take the top of the standings alone.
