Cuba remains undefeated in the 15U Baseball World Championship with a sound 11-5 victory against Venezuela and clinches access to Sunday’s gold medal game.

A strong start set the pace for Mexico win (16-4) over Nicaragua. A6 run first inning, highlighted by a 3 run batted in double by Botello, was the key. Botello was the first of 5 mexican pitchers to take the mound and struck out 7 in 3 innings. Reliever Erick Casillas was credited with the win.

Chinese Taipei defeated Brazil in the third day of the second round of the 15U Baseball World Championship in Chihuahua with a score of 10-4.

Mexico handed Venezuela its first loss at the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship. In the evening game of the second round in Chihuahua they used two three-run frames to down the dominating team of the tournament 6-4 on Thursday.

In the end it was a hard-fought victory for Brazil, which downed Nicaragua 7-6 on Thursday afternoon at the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship in Mexico. The South Americans built a quick 7-1 lead, but their opposition rallied in the end, missing out on the tie in the ninth.

The baseball powerhouse won a pitcher’s duel against Chinese Taipei on Thursday morning to improve to 3-0 in the second round, staying on course to reach the Gold Medal Game. Meanwhile their biggest opponent so far, Venezuela, stumbled over Mexico, losing for the first time after dominating with a terrific offensive performance before. In the third Group 1 matchup Brazil nearly blew a big lead against Nicaragua.

Dannel Diaz led Cuba to a 3-1 win in a pitcher’s duel against Chinese Taipei on Thursday morning in Chihuahua, Mexico. They improved to 3-0 in the second round of the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship, looking to reach the Gold Medal Game. For Chinese Taipei it was the second loss in as many days.

Chihuahua (Mexico). The I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship in Chihuahua, Cuauhtémoc and Parral started into the second phase on Wednesday. The best two teams from each first-round pool moved up into Group 1, trying to qualify for Gold Medal and Bronze Medal Games next Sunday in another round robin. Cuba and Venezuela confirmed their favorite status by improving to 2-0 in their pool on Wednesday. Also Mexico started successfully with a blowout over Brazil. The Venezuela-Mexico matchup will be in the spotlight on Thursday.

After their surprise loss to Chinese Taipei in the first round, Mexico is back on track at the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship. The hosts defeated Brazil 19-2 in six innings to improve to 1-1 at the start of the second round. Ten runs in the bottom of the fifth blew the game wide open.

Aruba defeated Italy 9-8 in the first game of the second round at the 15U Baseball World Championship in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico.
