(Press Release; WBSC-AMERICAS).- The U15 medals games are set with Puerto Rico and Cuba playing in the bronze medal, while the infraction on the use of a pitcher restricted to pitch by Cuba sends Venezuela to the finals.
In the morning game Puerto Rico and Panama clashed in a back-and-forth duel that ended in favor of the Centro American nation, who held on until the last inning to come away with the victory.
Puerto Rico had the bases loaded in the last inning down by one run but Cristian Navarro was able to strike out Will Soto to end the game and the rally of five the runs that the Puerto Ricans had started.
Panama took the game 12-11 and reached the finals after winning the first three games but losing the next to games of the tournament.
The game between Venezuela and Cuba was confiscated after an infraction in the use of a pitcher that was restricted to pitch by tournament rules proceeded and gave the host nation the victory 7-0.
The results mean that Venezuela will face Panama in the finals on sunday, while Cuba and Puerto Rico will play for the bronze medal on Saturday. Also on saturday the Dominican Republic will battle Colombia for the last remaining spot to play in the U-15 World Cup.
