Women’s BWC: Venezuela stuns USA
It is probably the biggest upset at the V IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup so far. Venezuela stunned Team USA 5-1 in the afternoon game at John Fry Park. Four runs in the fourth decided the outcome, as the South American pitching issued just four hits in seven innings of play. Venezuela improved to 3-4 to end the first round. The United States dropped to 5-2 and has to wait until the evening to know if they are second or third.
15U BWC: Mexico blows out Lithuania
After the official opener against Chinese Taipei had to be postponed Mexico kicked off their schedule at the I IBAF Baseball World Championship on Friday evening in Chihuahua with a whopping 44-0 blowout over Lithuania.
15U BWC: Argentina enters Tourney with Win over Hong Kong
Argentina has entered the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship with an 18-8 rout over Hong Kong. The South Americans scored eight runs in the second to turn a 2-1 lead into a commanding advantage.
15U BWC: Chinese Taipei stops Honduras
Chinese Taipei scored all 14 runs of their 14-0 shutout over Honduras between the second and fifth, celebrating their first win in the first game of the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship. They were rained out on Thursday evening, while Honduras had beaten Lithuania.
15U BWC: Venezuela shuts out Ukraine in Tournament Debut
Venezuela entered the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship on Friday with a 15-0 shutout over the Ukraine. They scored 11 of their 15 runs in the second inning of the blowout. For the European team it was their second loss in the tournament.
15U BWC: Cuba no-hits Indonesia in Parral
Cuba is continuing to demonstrate their strength at the I IBAF 15U Baseball World Championship. On Friday afternoon they took apart Indonesia 24-0 in five innings. They scored 15 runs alone in the second frame en route to the blowout.
Women’s BWC: Japan ends Canada’s Streak to finish 1st
Defending world champion Japan is entering the semi-finals of the V IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup on Saturday as the number-one seed and will face Australia in the afternoon. They defeated Canada 9-7 on Friday evening in front of the best crowd so far at Telus Field in Edmonton, handing the hosts their first loss in the tournament. Canada will now take on Team USA in the second semi-final.
Women’s BWC: Cuba wins Duel of winless Teams
Cuba has finally won a game in the V IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup. They defeated the Netherlands 13-5 on Thursday afternoon at Telus Field, concluding the first round in Edmonton with a 1-6 record in seventh place. The Dutch team dropped to 0-7. Both teams will play in the consolation round this weekend, still having a chance to finish in fifth.

Due to the rain delay in Parral, Ukraine-Nicaragua game in Cuauhtemoc was definetly the first game of the first IBAF 15U Baseball World Championships.
Women’s BWC: USA overcomes early Deficit in Win over Chinese Taipei
The USA overcame an early scare en route to a 13-3 victory over Chinese Taipei. The two-time champion erased a first-inning deficit to win their fifth game at the V Women’s Baseball World Cup in Edmonton, Canada. Playing at John Fry Park they scored in each frame between the second and the fifth to end the contest due to ten-run rule. Chinese Taipei is now 3-3 in the tournament, hoping to qualify for the semi-finals.
